This crew failed to return from operations to Peenemunde on August 17/18, 1943
while flying Halifax V DK-243 coded ZL-F, after being shot down by a night fighter.
G. Filer missed the flight on this night, and therefore survived. Also with the
crew on this night (but not in photo) were Sgt I. Pugh RAF, Flight engineer;
W/O2 J. Troman RCAF Wireless Op; and Sgt O. McIntyre RCAF Mid-upper gunner.
