    19 Halifaxes from 408 and 426 Squadrons were ordered to attack the airfield at Gablingen. The crews were over the target at between 17,000 and 18,000 feet, releasing 102,000 lbs of high explosives. 

    F/Lt R. Hutcheon from 408 Squadron returned early as the port inner was u/s. They landed safely at base on 3 engines.

    F/Sgt J. Burlak from 426 Squadron returned early as they were unable to climb.
     

    While crews went to Gablingen, 122 Lancasters from 419, 424, 427, 428, 429, 431, 433, and 434 Squadrons were ordered on an attack of the rail yards at Schwandorf. The crews were over the target at between 9,500 and 12,000 feet, releasing 1,152,000 lbs of high explosives. According to reports, bombing was accurate and severe damage was caused.

    F/O H. Mann from 424 Squadron did not bomb as the load hung up due to an electrical problem.

    F/Lt W. Towne from 427 Squadron returned early as the stbd inner was u/s. They landed long and went through a fence at the end of the runway. The crew was not injured.
    P/O R. Pearson had the stbd outer u/s on return. They landed safely at Manston on 3 engines.

    F/O E. Norrington from 431 Squadron did not bomb as the load hung up over the target.
    F/O R. Taylor and crew flying Lancaster X KB-812 coded SE-F were attacked by an HE-219, there was no claim or damage.
    P/O A. McNeil and crew flying Lancaster X KB-856 coded SE-K were attacked by an unidentified single and twin engine aircraft, there were on claims or damage.

    P/O J. Forbes from 433 Squadron had the port inner catch fire on return. They landed safely at Melsbrouck on 3 engines.

    F/Lt E. Yuill from 434 Squadron had the port outer u/s on return. They landed safely at base on 3 engines.
