37 Lancasters from 408, 419, and 428 squadron were joined by 177 Halifaxes from 408, 415, 420, 424, 425, 426, 427, 429, 431, 432, 433, and 434 squadrons on attack of 2 Luftwaffe Nightfighter fields at Brussels and Soesterberg. The crews were over the target at between 13,000 and 18,000 feet, releasing 2,270,000 lbs of high explosives. According to reports, both airfields were severely damaged.

P/O J. Tims from 415 squadron was hit by flak, not serious.
W/O2 A. Weston from 419 squadron had the port inner go u/s after takeoff,
a short time later the stbd inner started acting up. They landed safely
at base on 2 engines with a bomb load.
F/O G. Jones from 420 squadron had the port outer go u/s outbound. They
bombed from a low altitude and returned safely to base on 3 engines.
F/Sgt C. Dionne from 425 squadron returned early as the port inner was u/s. They landed safely at base on 3 engines.
P/O S. Simmons from 426 squadron was hit by flak, not serious.
F/O G. Plyley from 427 squadron was hit by flak, there were holes in the port fuel tanks, wings and fuselage.
F/Lt G. Gonyou from 428 squadron was hit by flak, there were holes in
the port wing and tail plane.
