40 Lancasters from 408, 426, and 432 Squadrons were ordered on an attack
at Berlin. The crews were over the target at between 20,000 and 22,000
feet, releasing 148,000 lbs of high explosives and 107,000 lbs of incendiaries.
According to reports, bombing was accurate with more fresh damage being
caused.
W/O2 R. Lloyd from 408 Squadron returned early as the port inner was
u/s. They landed safely at base on 3 engines.
2nd/Lt M. Humphrey landed at Dalton on return due to poor weather at
base.
F/Sgt N. Sutherland, W/Cdr D. Jacobs, and F/Lt W. Russell landed at
Tholthorpe due to poor weather at base.

and crew, flying Lancaster II DS-737 coded EQ-C, crashed into high ground
on return near Hawnby due to poor weather.

F/Lt W. Spafford returned early as one engine was u/s. They landed
safely at base on 3 engines.
F/Sgt J. Coulombe was attacked by a JU-88, this was claimed, probable
by the gunners. Damage to the Lancaster was a few holes in the fuselage.
W/O2 R. Stewart
RCAF and crew, flying Lancaster II DS-779 coded OW-C, crashed near Hunsingore
on return due to bad weather.

bailed out near base due to poor weather and no fuel. Their Lancaster crashed
near Thornaby.
