13 Halifaxes from 424, 427, 429, and 433 squadrons were ordered on a mining operation to the Kattegat. The crews were over the garden at between 500 and 15,000 feet, sowing 44@1500 lb mines.

F/O W. Britton from 427 squadron returned early as the navigation aids
were u/s. The landed at Banff.

F/O J. Keslick from 429 Squadron was hit by flak, the bomb bay and starboard
outer were damaged. They landed at Kinloss on return.
